Just inside the main entrance of The Lorenzo Hotel is a portrait of Tina Turner. In 1976 after a concert in Dallas Tina made the life changing decision to leave her abusive husband Ike Turner. She walked about nine blocks from the hotel she was staying to what would become The Lorenzo Hotel. The manager working that night put Turner up in the presidential suite and at that moment she began her legendary career as a solo artist.
